How to check your Cabela’s gift card balance

By phone
Call the catalog order center on 1-800-237-4444 and the agent can check the balance for you. That is the US catalog line, so it fits a card bought in the United States.
Where to find the number and PIN
On a plastic card, scratch off the gray coating to reveal the PIN. On an eGift, the card number and PIN are in the email, and Cabela’s tells in-store users to print the email or save the image so the cashier can scan it. Keep the original email until the balance reaches zero.
Why a Cabela’s gift card may not work
A card usually fails because of a mistyped number or PIN, a card that was not activated at the retailer, or a balance already spent. Cabela’s lists the same checks in its help center.

The card was lost, stolen or damaged
Cabela’s replaces a lost, stolen or damaged card for its remaining value if you give satisfactory proof of purchase. Without the store receipt or proof of purchase, a card cannot be replaced or refunded, so keep the order email.
Cabela’s gift cards do not expire
Cabela’s says Bass Pro and Cabela’s gift cards and eGift cards do not expire and carry no inactivity fee. Some US states have unclaimed property laws that can require unused balances to be turned over to the state, with a notice sent first.
The same help center says these cards are not redeemable for cash, check or credit except where the law requires it. The US and Canadian Cabela’s cards are separate products
