How to Check Your IKEA Gift Card Balance

• Updated October 16, 2026

How to check an IKEA gift card balance by logging in to your IKEA Family account, by phone or at a US store, where to find the 4-digit PIN, and how to buy a new IKEA USA card in USD with Bitcoin, USDT or 300+ coins, no KYC at checkout.

IKEA gift card balance checked on a phone, next to a crypto wallet ready to buy a new card with Bitcoin

Check an IKEA gift card balance by logging in to your IKEA Family account on IKEA’s gift cards page, with your card number and PIN.

This guide covers the online check, the phone route and the in-store route, with the rules IKEA publishes on its US gift cards page, as read on 13 October 2026. It also shows how to buy a new IKEA card in US dollars with crypto when your money sits in a wallet instead of a bank account.

Two details from IKEA’s page answer most balance questions. The PIN has 4 digits and sits under the gray scratch-off field on the back of a physical card, and the balance IKEA gives you is an estimate. Keep the card in front of you before you start.

How to check your IKEA gift card balance

Log in to your IKEA Family account from IKEA’s gift cards page and enter your card number or code, plus the PIN if the card has one. IKEA also lists a phone line and its US stores.

Online, from the gift cards page

Open IKEA’s US gift cards page and scroll to the section called Check your gift or return card balance. When we loaded it on 13 October 2026, it said to log in to your IKEA Family account and to have your card number or code ready, and a PIN code if one applies. Joining IKEA Family is free, and the page links to it.

Use the page IKEA itself points to rather than a balance site found through a search. A card number and PIN are as good as cash, so type them only where IKEA asks for them. IKEA’s terms also prohibit checking balances with a bot or any other computer program, so check cards by hand.

Where to find the 4-digit PIN

IKEA says the 4-digit PIN is under the gray scratch-off field on the back of the card. Keep the card with you when you check, because the PIN is needed alongside the card number.

For a digital card, use the number or code from the email you received when it was sent. The balance check asks for a PIN only where one applies, so a digital card may not need one.

By phone

IKEA’s terms say your balance is available by calling 1.888.888.IKEA (4532) and asking to speak to a customer service representative about your card balance. Have the card number ready before you call.

In an IKEA store

The same terms say you may ask about your balance at any IKEA store in the United States.

The balance is an estimate

IKEA says the balance you receive when you ask is an estimate only. In most cases it adjusts immediately after a purchase, but the terms say an adjustment can occasionally be delayed. If the figure looks wrong right after an order, check again later before you assume money is missing.

Lost cards are not replaced

IKEA’s terms say the value of a lost, damaged or stolen card will not be replaced and that you are responsible for keeping the card safe. Keep a photo of a digital card’s email in a private folder instead of a public chat.

What an IKEA gift card covers

An IKEA gift card from the US program pays for merchandise, select IKEA services, food and beverages at participating IKEA stores in the United States and online at IKEA.us. The table lists the rules that matter for your balance, as IKEA states them.

Rule What IKEA says
Where it works Participating IKEA stores in the United States and online at IKEA.us
What it pays for Merchandise, select IKEA services, food and beverages; not IKEA Kitchen Services or third-party services, and promotional cards can have extra limits
Expiry and fees Physical and digital gift cards do not expire, and no inactivity or service fees apply; promotional cards may expire
Reloading The cards may not be reloaded with additional value
Checking the balance Online through your IKEA Family account, by phone at 1.888.888.IKEA (4532), or at any IKEA store in the United States; the figure is an estimate
Paying more than the balance If your purchase is higher than the unused balance, you pay the excess at the time of purchase
Cash and other cards A card cannot be redeemed for cash except where the law requires it, and it cannot be used to buy another card
Refunds No refunds on the purchase of a gift card or a digital gift card; all sales are final
Lost or stolen The value of a lost, damaged or stolen card is not replaced
Daily limits No more than $10,000 in card value in one day, and no single card worth more than $1,000 in one day
Resale You may not sell a card or trade it for something else, but you may give it to another person as a gift

Because a card cannot be reloaded and does not expire, an old card is worth a balance check before you throw it out. If you hold several cards with small leftovers, check each one, spend the smallest first and keep the largest for a bigger order.

A leftover balance rarely goes to waste, since the card covers furniture, decor and home essentials. For more shopping brands paid with crypto, the shopping gift cards hub lists every card in the category, and the IKEA brand page lists every IKEA card Genghis sells.

Why buy a new IKEA card with crypto

Buying the new card with crypto skips the exchange, the bank transfer and the bank card. If most of your money is in crypto, the usual route means selling on an exchange, waiting for the transfer and then paying by card.

No bank card in the loop

You pay from your own wallet or from an exchange balance. No card number, no billing address and no bank statement line are involved in the purchase on Genghis.

No KYC at checkout

Genghis asks for an email address to deliver the code and nothing else. There is no document upload, no selfie and no proof of address. Purchase limits apply, and the how Genghis works page explains the full flow.

The code arrives on screen

The code shows up once your payment confirms on the network, and a link to it lands in your inbox. How long that takes depends on the network of the coin you pick.

Fifteen values, from 25 USD to 500 USD

The IKEA USA card on Genghis had 15 values in stock on 13 October 2026, from 25 USD to 500 USD. You can pick the value closest to what you plan to spend, instead of loading a round amount you will not use.

Points on your orders

Orders placed with a free Genghis account can earn Genghis Points, and a Point is a cent at checkout. The rewards section below has the details.

How to buy an IKEA gift card with crypto in 6 steps

Open the IKEA USA page, choose the value and coin, send the amount, and copy the code once the payment confirms. Each step in detail:

  1. Open the IKEA USA page. Go to the IKEA USA gift card for shopping in the United States.
  2. Pick the card value. Choose a face value between 25 USD and 500 USD that covers the gap between your balance and your order.
  3. Choose your coin and network. Select Bitcoin, USDT, Solana, Monero or another of the 300+ coins, and the network you will send on.
  4. Enter your email address. This is where the link to your code goes. No account is required to buy.
  5. Send the exact amount. Copy the address or scan the QR code and send the amount shown, adding any withdrawal fee your wallet or exchange charges.
  6. Copy your code. Once the payment confirms, your card details appear on screen and by email, with the steps to use them at IKEA.

Match the card to your country

This card is not a worldwide (WW) product. The IKEA USA card works in the United States only, and each IKEA card on Genghis redeems only in its own country. Check the country on the product page before you pay.

IKEA gift card values on Genghis

Genghis lists IKEA cards for 28 countries, and the US card is priced in US dollars. The values below were read on the live product page on 13 October 2026, and the price in crypto is shown at checkout and moves with exchange rates.

Card Works in Face values in stock on 13 October 2026
IKEA USA United States 25, 30, 35, 40, 50, 60, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200, 250, 300, 400 and 500 USD

All 15 listed values were in stock that day. Stock moves, so open the product page for the live list before you plan an order. The rules in this guide are the ones IKEA publishes for its US cards.

If you shop IKEA outside the United States, Genghis lists the IKEA Canada gift card, the IKEA UK gift card and the IKEA Australia gift card, among others. Rules differ by country, so read the IKEA page for your own country before you check a balance.

Four ways to get a new IKEA card

Buying the gift card directly with crypto is the shortest route from a wallet; IKEA itself, an exchange or a crypto debit card also work. The table sets the routes side by side, including the one where buying from IKEA wins.

Route What you need Identity checks Where it wins
Buy at IKEA.us or at an IKEA store A bank card or cash, and a store visit for a printed card Set by your card provider Amounts in steps of $5, an emailed or printed digital card, and the card in your hand the same visit
Sell crypto on a custodial exchange, then pay by bank card Exchange account, bank account, bank card Usually full ID verification at the exchange Useful if you already cash out regularly
Crypto debit card A card program account and a funded balance Usually ID verification by the card issuer Works anywhere cards work, not only at one brand
Buy the gift card with crypto on Genghis A wallet or exchange balance and an email address No KYC at checkout, within the purchase limits Straight from wallet to card, without a bank

The honest trade-off: IKEA sells smaller amounts than the 25 USD floor on Genghis, issues printed cards and answers questions about the card you already hold. A crypto debit card spends everywhere, and a gift card spends at one brand. If your money is in crypto and IKEA is where it is going, the gift card is the shorter path.

The United States ranks #3 of 79 countries on the Rails Ranking but #32 on the Livability Ranking, where need for crypto counts (Genghis Research, 2026). The payment rails are strong, so the gap for most holders is the last step from a wallet to a store checkout. The United States Crypto Livability Index page has the full scoreboard.

Furnishing a room in the US?

The IKEA USA card goes up to 500 USD per code, paid with Bitcoin, USDT or 300+ coins and no KYC at checkout. Choose your IKEA value

Which crypto to pay with

Pay with the coin you already hold: a stablecoin keeps its value steady, Solana or Tron confirm sooner than Bitcoin, and Monero keeps the payment private. Genghis accepts 300+ cryptocurrencies. The amount shown in your coin at checkout is the full price and includes the exchange-rate margin. The quote holds for about 20 minutes.

Bitcoin (BTC)

The default for many holders. Confirmation takes longer than on faster networks, so the code arrives after the block confirms. The Bitcoin gift card page covers the details.

USDT and USDC

Stablecoins keep their value steady between quote and payment, which suits a card you want to price exactly. USDT on Tron adds a network cost that checkout shows before you choose. See buying gift cards with USDT.

Solana (SOL)

Solana confirms sooner than Bitcoin, so the code appears once the network confirms your payment. It suits buyers who want the code without waiting for Bitcoin blocks. The Solana gift card page has the steps.

Ethereum (ETH)

Supported on the networks listed at checkout. Pick the network your wallet actually holds the coins on, since coins sent on a different network can be lost.

Monero (XMR)

For buyers who want the payment itself to stay private. Monero adds a network cost shown at checkout. The Monero gift card page explains how it works.

How to use the code at IKEA

Enter the code at checkout on IKEA.us, or give it to the cashier at a participating IKEA store in the United States. IKEA says the card works at its US stores and on IKEA.us.

Check the balance once the code arrives, so you know the exact amount before you build your order. If your purchase is higher than the balance, IKEA says you pay the excess at the time of purchase, and any value you do not spend stays on the card because it does not expire.

Remember what the card does not cover. IKEA says it cannot pay for IKEA Kitchen Services or third-party services, so keep another payment method for those.

Is it safe

Yes, as long as the card is for you or a gift, never a payment someone demands. A gift card is cash in another form: IKEA says it will not replace a lost, damaged or stolen card, so keep the code private and share it with nobody.

Read IKEA’s own terms before you buy from any seller. IKEA says cards must be obtained from IKEA or an authorized third party, and that is a reason to check the balance the moment your code arrives and to buy only where a failed card is replaced.

On the Genghis side, the security page explains how your data is protected. If a code fails at first redemption, arrives incomplete or never arrives, it is replaced, or refunded if no replacement comes within 5 business days.

Earn Genghis Points on the purchase

Yes, orders placed with a free Genghis account can earn Points, and a new account starts with 100 Points. Missions pay more Points when you spend in a category with your account, from orders of 15 USD, and a Point is a cent at checkout. Points never expire and need no KYC to earn or redeem.

They become spendable once your account has 25 USD in completed orders. At checkout you drag the slider and the Points turn into a discount before you pay. Guest checkouts do not earn Points. The Genghis rewards page has the full rules.

Log in to your IKEA Family account from IKEA’s gift cards page and enter your card number or code, plus the PIN if the card has one. You can also call IKEA or ask at a US store.

Where do I find the PIN on an IKEA gift card?

IKEA says the 4-digit PIN is under the gray scratch-off field on the back of the card. A digital card may not need one, since the balance check asks for a PIN only where it applies.

Can I check my IKEA gift card balance by phone or in a store?

Yes. IKEA’s terms list 1.888.888.IKEA (4532) for balance questions and say you may ask at any IKEA store in the United States. The figure you get is an estimate only.

Do IKEA gift cards expire?

IKEA says its physical and digital gift cards do not expire and carry no inactivity or service fees. Promotional cards may expire, so check the terms printed on yours.

Can I add money to an IKEA gift card?

No. IKEA’s terms say the cards may not be reloaded with additional value, so buy a new card when the balance runs out.

Yes. On Genghis you pay for the card with Bitcoin, USDT, Solana, Monero or 300+ other coins, then use it at IKEA.us or in a US IKEA store like any other card.

No. Genghis asks only for an email address at checkout, with no documents. Purchase limits apply: without an account, up to 500 USD in 24 hours and 2,000 USD in 30 days.

How fast does the code arrive?

It appears on screen once your payment confirms on the network, with a link by email. The wait depends on the coin: Solana and Tron confirm sooner than Bitcoin.

Can I pay with Monero?

Yes. Monero is supported at checkout and adds a network cost that is shown before you choose it.

Are there any fees?

The amount shown in your coin is the full price and includes the exchange-rate margin. A network cost applies only to USDT on Tron and to Monero. Your own wallet or exchange may charge a withdrawal fee.

What if my code does not work?

Send a request through our Help Center within 30 days with your order number and a screenshot. A code that fails at first redemption, arrives incomplete or never arrives is replaced, or refunded if no replacement comes within 5 business days, and a wrong country on our page is refunded.

Can I use an IKEA US gift card outside the United States?

IKEA says its US cards are redeemable at participating IKEA stores in the United States and on IKEA.us, and the Genghis IKEA USA card works in the United States only. Check the country before you buy.
