Coles Myer Gift Cards: Where to Use, Balance, Buy with Crypto

• Updated November 2, 2026

What the Coles Group and Myer gift card is, where it works (Coles, Myer, Target, Kmart, Officeworks, Liquorland), how to check the balance, the 4-year expiry, and how to buy Australian Coles and Myer cards with Bitcoin, USDT or 300+ coins.

Coles Myer gift cards on a phone in Australia, next to a crypto wallet ready to buy a Coles or Myer gift card

Coles Myer gift cards are one card that pays at Coles, Myer, Kmart, Target and Officeworks in Australia, and you can buy one with crypto.

The Coles Group and Myer gift card is a single stored-value card that works across the Coles Group and Myer retail brands. Coles Group Limited cards expire 4 years from the date of issue, and the balance is checked with a 17-digit card number and a 4-digit PIN. On Genghis, the Australian cards are paid for with Bitcoin, USDT or 300+ other coins.

This guide follows the official Coles Group and Myer gift card FAQ, read on 2 November 2026, and the live Genghis product pages read on 2 November 2026 as well. It explains what the card is, where it works, how to check the balance, what happens at expiry, how it differs from a Coles-only or Myer-only card, and how to buy one with crypto when your money sits in a wallet.

Paying for Australian shopping from a crypto wallet?

Genghis sells the Coles eGift voucher, the Myer gift card and the Coles Group and Myer gift card for Bitcoin, USDT or 300+ other coins. No KYC at checkout, and your code appears on screen as soon as the payment confirms on the network. See the Coles eGift voucher

What the Coles Group and Myer gift card is

The Coles Group and Myer gift card is a shared card issued for the Coles Group family of retailers and Myer, so one balance can be spent at several shops. It comes as a plastic card or as an eGift sent by email.

Search results mix it up with two narrower products. A store-specific card, such as a Target card, works only in that store, while the shared card spreads across the group. The Coles FAQ states this split directly: retail store cards can only be redeemed in their own store.

Physical card and eGift

A physical card is a plastic card with a number and a PIN. An eGift is delivered by email, arrives already active, and is used the same way at the till or online. The reach differs slightly, as the next section shows.

Why people search for “Coles Myer”

The card carries the combined name of both groups, so searches such as Coles Myer voucher, Coles Myer gift card online and Coles Myer gift card Bunnings are common. The retailer list in the FAQ does not include Bunnings, so the shared card is not a Bunnings card.

Where you can use a Coles Myer gift card

A physical Coles Group and Myer card is redeemed at Coles Supermarkets, Myer, Target, Kmart, Officeworks and Liquorland, and an eGift at the same shops except Liquorland. The FAQ lists the stores and their online sites separately.

Retailer Physical card eGift
Coles Supermarkets Yes Yes
Myer and Myer Online Yes Yes
Target and Target Online Yes Yes
Kmart and Kmart Online Yes Yes
Officeworks and Officeworks Online Yes Yes
Liquorland Yes Not listed
Shell and Reddy Express stores Until 31 July 2030 Not listed

Source: the Coles Group and Myer gift card FAQ, read on 2 November 2026. The FAQ adds that some conditions and exclusions apply, so the card terms of use are worth a read before a large purchase.

What the card does not cover

The FAQ says some conditions and exclusions apply and sends readers to the card terms of use. A card cannot be topped up once it is loaded, so a new need means a new card. A shop outside the FAQ list is not covered by the shared card.

How to check a Coles Myer gift card balance

Check the balance by calling 1300 304 990, using the check balance page at giftcards.com.au, or asking at most registers in a participating store. You need the 17-digit card number and the 4-digit PIN for each of these.

Where to find the number and the PIN

The FAQ asks for the 17-digit card number and the 4-digit PIN, and an eGift is delivered to the recipient by email. Keep the card, or the email that delivered the eGift, until the balance reaches zero.

Why a balance can look wrong

A mistyped digit is the likeliest cause, so re-enter the number and PIN slowly. A balance of zero on an old card may mean the 4-year expiry has passed, which the next section covers.

Expiry, top-ups and lost cards

Every gift card issued by Coles Group Limited expires 4 years from the date of issue, and the FAQ says value left after that is not available for use. Read the date on your own card and spend the balance before it.

No top-ups

Once a card is loaded its value cannot be increased, according to the FAQ. Buying a second card in the amount you need is the only way to add funds for a later shop.

Lost or stolen cards

Activated cards are treated like cash. The FAQ states that lost or stolen cards cannot be replaced or refunded. Keep the number and PIN private, and do not share a photo of the card.

Coles eGift, Myer card or the shared card: which to buy

Buy the shared card for one balance across several shops, a Coles eGift for groceries only, or a Myer card for department-store shopping only. Genghis lists all three for Australia, and each works only in Australia.

Card on Genghis Works at Values read on 2 November 2026 Stock
Coles Group and Myer gift card The shared card, Australia only 25, 50, 100 and 200 AUD All four values sold out
Coles Australia eGift voucher Coles, Australia only 13 values from 5 AUD, with 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 AUD listed first Available
Myer gift card Australia Myer, Australia only 22 values, including 5, 7, 15, 20 and 35 AUD Available

The shared card showed every value sold out when the page was read, and the page offers an email alert for when a value returns. If you need groceries today, the Coles eGift voucher is in stock. If the department-store side matters more, the Myer card is the closer match.

Matching the card to your shop

For Kmart or Target shopping, check the Kmart Australia gift card and the Target Australia gift card, which are separate store cards. A card for one store pays only there, so match the card to where you will spend.

Why buy a Coles Myer card with crypto

A gift card turns a crypto balance into a payment at a high-street shop without selling to a bank account first. For Australian shopping that route skips the exchange, the bank transfer and the wait between them.

No bank account in the middle

Selling crypto on a custodial exchange usually means an account, identity checks and a withdrawal to a bank. Buying the card directly means a wallet, an email address and nothing else. No KYC at checkout: an email address is all we ask for.

The code arrives on screen

Your code appears on screen as soon as the payment confirms on the network. We also email you a link to it. How long the confirmation takes depends on the network of the coin you pick.

Small and large amounts

The Coles eGift voucher starts at 5 AUD, so a small grocery gap can be covered with one small card. Larger values exist on the shared card when it is back in stock. The price in your coin is shown before you pay.

Points on every account order

Orders placed with a free Genghis account earn Genghis Points, and a Point is worth $0.01 of discount at checkout. The rewards section below has the rules.

How to buy a Coles Myer gift card with crypto in 6 steps

Open the product page, pick the value, choose your coin, enter your email, send the exact amount and copy the code once the payment confirms. Each step in detail:

  1. Open the product page. Go to the Coles Australia eGift voucher, the Myer gift card or the Coles Group and Myer gift card, depending on where you shop.
  2. Pick the card value. Choose the face value in Australian dollars that covers your shopping.
  3. Choose your coin and network. Select Bitcoin, USDT, Solana, Monero or another of the 300+ coins, and the network you will send on.
  4. Enter your email address. This is where the link to your code goes. No account is required to buy.
  5. Send the exact amount. Copy the address or scan the QR code and send the amount shown, adding any withdrawal fee your wallet or exchange charges.
  6. Copy your code. Once the payment confirms, the code appears on screen and a link arrives by email, ready to use at a participating retailer in Australia.

Match the card to your country

These cards are not worldwide (WW) products. Each works only in Australia, so it does not pay in New Zealand or abroad. Check the how Genghis works page for the full flow from quote to code.

Three ways to pay for Australian shopping from crypto

With crypto in hand, buying the gift card directly is the shortest route; selling first and paying by crypto debit card also work. The table sets the routes side by side, including the one where a bank card wins.

Route What you need Identity checks Where it wins
Sell crypto on a custodial exchange, then pay by bank card Exchange account, Australian bank account and card Usually full ID verification at the exchange Works at any shop that takes cards
Crypto debit card A card program account and a funded balance Usually ID verification by the card issuer Spends at any shop that takes cards
Paying by bank card at the till A bank card and a store visit None at the till No gift card at all, if your money is already in a bank
Buy the gift card with crypto on Genghis A wallet or exchange balance and an email address No KYC at checkout, within the purchase limits Straight from wallet to card, no bank account needed

The honest trade-off: a debit card spends everywhere, and a gift card spends at the shops on its list. If your weekly shop is at Coles anyway, the gift card is the shorter path from wallet to checkout.

Australia ranks #35 of 79 countries on the Livability Ranking but #4 on the Rails Ranking (Genghis Research, 2026). Spending rails are strong there, which is why crypto is optional rather than necessary, and a gift card is one of the quiet ways to use it. The Australia Crypto Livability Index page has the full scoreboard.

Which crypto to pay with

Pay with the coin you already hold: a stablecoin keeps the value steady, Solana confirms sooner than Bitcoin, and Monero keeps the payment private. Genghis accepts 300+ cryptocurrencies. The amount in your coin is shown before you pay. It includes our exchange-rate margin; a network cost applies only to USDT on Tron and to Monero.

Bitcoin (BTC)

The default for many holders. The code appears once the Bitcoin block confirms your payment. The Bitcoin gift card page covers the details.

USDT and USDC

Stablecoins keep the dollar value steady between quote and payment. USDT on Tron adds a network cost that checkout shows before you choose. See buying gift cards with USDT.

Solana (SOL)

Solana confirms sooner than Bitcoin, so it suits buyers who want the code without waiting for Bitcoin blocks. The Solana gift card page lists how it works.

Ethereum (ETH)

Supported on the networks listed at checkout. Pick the network your wallet actually holds the coins on, since coins sent on a different network can be lost.

Monero (XMR)

For buyers who want the payment itself to stay private. Monero adds a network cost shown at checkout. The Monero gift card page explains how it works.

How to use the code at Coles, Myer and the other shops

Present the card or eGift at the till of a participating shop, or use it at the online store of a retailer on the list. Each retailer lists the shops that take the card, so pick the right card first.

An eGift works at Coles, Myer, Target, Kmart and Officeworks, in store and online. A physical card adds Liquorland. Any balance left stays on the card, and you can check it again with the steps above. The FAQ does not publish screen-by-screen steps for each checkout, so follow the gift card field at the retailer you use.

Is a Coles Myer gift card safe to buy and hold

Yes, if you treat it like cash and buy it for yourself or as a gift, never as a payment someone demands. Nobody legitimate asks to be paid in gift cards for a tax bill, a fine or an emergency, and a card number shared with a stranger can be spent by them.

On the Genghis side, payments are non-custodial: Genghis never holds your crypto. The security page documents what data is kept, and the AML and purchase limits page sets out the limits. If a code fails, the refund policy sets out what happens next.

Earn Genghis Points on the purchase

Yes, orders placed with a free Genghis account earn Points, and a new account starts with 100 Points. A Point is worth $0.01 of discount at checkout, the balance never expires, and there is no KYC to earn or redeem.

Points become spendable once your account has $25 in completed orders. Guest checkouts do not earn Points. The Genghis rewards page has the full rules.
